Welcome to Car Rental Colombo! We are committed to delivering a safe, reliable, and comfortable car rental experience for travelers visiting Sri Lanka. Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using our services.

1. Rental Eligibility

• Age Requirement: Drivers must be at least 21 years old and not older than 65 years.

• Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license from your home country and an International Driving Permit (IDP) approved for use in Sri Lanka are mandatory. We can assist in arranging an IDP before your arrival.

• Required at Pickup:

  • Valid passport or national ID

  • Valid driver’s license and IDP

  • Credit card in the main driver’s name

2. Pick-Up & Drop-Off

• Standard Pick-Up: Between 12:00 and 17:00

• Standard Drop-Off: Between 08:00 and 10:00

• Locations: Colombo, Negombo, and Bandaranaike International Airport. Hotel delivery available upon request.

• Out-of-Hours Service: Subject to additional fees and prior agreement.

3. Pricing & Payment

• Rates vary depending on rental duration and season. Custom quotes are provided upon request.

• Fuel policy: Full-to-full. If fuel is missing on return, charges apply.

• A refundable security deposit is required and will be returned within 48 hours of vehicle return, subject to inspection.

4. Insurance & Liability

• Rentals include basic insurance with an excess/deductible (details in your rental agreement).

• Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) may apply if terms are followed.

• In the event of damage, theft, or accident:

  • Notify us immediately

  • File a police report

  • Renter is responsible for towing and damage excess unless otherwise agreed

5. Vehicle Use Restrictions

• Smoking and transporting pets inside the vehicle are strictly prohibited.

• Vehicle must not be used:

  • While intoxicated or under the influence of drugs

  • For illegal or racing activities

  • Outside Sri Lanka

  • By unauthorized drivers or sublet to others

• Tampering with the odometer or vehicle systems will result in a fine and legal action.

6. Renter Responsibilities

• Ensure vehicle is driven safely and maintained during the rental period (e.g., check oil, water, tire pressure).

• Use only secure and legal parking areas.

• Return the vehicle in the same condition as received, barring normal wear and tear.

7. Accidents & Breakdowns

• In the event of an accident:

  • Contact us, the local police, and the insurance provider immediately.

  • A complete police report is mandatory for insurance coverage.

  • Rental fees continue until a formal report is submitted.

8. Contract Terms

• Early returns are not eligible for refunds.

• Late returns are charged at the daily rate unless agreed in advance.

• Violations of these terms may result in immediate termination of the rental agreement.

9. Optional Services

Available upon request (additional fees may apply):

• Airport transfer

• Driver service

• Baby/child car seats

• GPS or local SIM with internet

• Travel planning, guided tours, or accommodation support

• Driving orientation sessions

10. Booking & Cancellation Policy

• Booking Deposit: A percentage is required to confirm the booking.

• Full Payment: Due a few weeks before the rental period begins (exact timing will be specified in the invoice).

• Cancellation Refunds:

  • ≥4 weeks before: Full refund

  • 3 weeks before: 80% refund

  • 2 weeks before: 70% refund

  • ≤1 week before: 50% refund
